Parable of the Sower in Phalombe

We are to be living examples and messengers to communicate the mercy and truth of the Word of God. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16 that we are the light of the world, a city on a hill … And we are to let this light shine among men. In Christ are hidden of all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col 2:3). The Lord has provided all we need pertaining to this life in the scriptures (2Pet 1:3) . When we find the treasures of God, we share this truth with others who are unaware. We declare that God is the master builder of all things (Col 2:16-17). He is the Chief Architect who laid the foundation of the world. His creation springs forth by His wisdom.

Village headman Kolosha started the meeting to highlight what Wiskie was to teach. He expressed our need to grow in the wisdom of God. He observed that we are just imitators of what God does. He said we are to implement what God planned for us. We must work hard to change the world through the wisdom of God, not by worldly wisdom (1Cor 2:12-16). He also emphasized importance of of being devoted to the Lord. He reminded the fathers of Phalombe of our need to transfer God’s wisdom to this generation and to the next (Prov 13:22) . He encouraged the residents of Phelombe to trust in the Lord with their souls that God may guide and direct (Prov 3:5-6).

Pastor Wyson Ng’ombe also commented on the same truth. He emphasized the need to be unified in our faith to make this vision come true in the eyes of our children. He said there is hope for us now, since we can see the plans of God for our development in His word. He previously thought the Bible only encouraged us to believe in Jesus so that we may to go to Heaven. It’s good news to know that God prepared that garden for Adam, and gave the responsibility to Adam to cultivate and develop the earth using the material resources like gold, water, soil and the seed. Pastor Wyson is personally excited with the vision of the Phalombe residents to build their spiritual and economic legacies while they first give honor to God for His mercy. He encouraged his Phalombe friends to believe and trust that the Lord of Heaven and Earth will allow the vision to come to pass .

Pastor Ng’gombe affirms the truth of God’s word revealed in Matthew 13, the Parable of the Sower.

Pastor Wiskie shared the word of God to the fathers in Phalombe that God is the originator of all technology. We imitate the Lord’s creations with our man-made inventions . We learn of God’s wisdom as we work with our hands cultivating the soil. We see Adam’s assignment when God commanded Adam in Genesis 2:8-15. Wiskie explained to the Phalombe residents how God provided to Adam all the resources in the garden. The Lord instructed Adam to use his learning to change the world for the better. In the same way, God has laid on us the responsibility to work hard and change our family status by the wisdom and provision God has given to us (Prov 1:5). We are to seek out His wisdom as one mines for silver and gold (Prov 2:3-5) .

When we use the energy from the sun to pump the water beneath to irrigate our crops, we are to glorify Him. The Lord encourages us to use all the resources we have at our disposal to train this generation and the next (Prov 13:22). Our ultimate focus is upon Him and not upon the gifts He provided (Isa 44:14-19). If our or focus only on material blessings, they can become our undoing as mentioned by the Apostle Paul in Rom 1:20-24 and in 2Cor4:13, and by Jesus in Matt 16:26.

Wiskie also shared the Parable of the Sower from Matthew 13 about the importance to understand the word of God to bear the fruits. He explained that the seed in the parable is the word of God. It comes from God Himself , so we are not doing our own thing, but what God provided. In other words, God has a purpose for every thing he created including for each one of us. If we don’t hear God’s voice, we cannot produce what is expected of us ( Jn10:27, Jn 14:21-23).

Every vision and mission has steps or phases to complete to be approved by God and men. As a group, we must understand that the vision God provided to us has to go through a process such that the word of God takes root within us. We are tested until He has counted us faithful to complete the task.

We might go through discouragements from people who don’t understand our mission. We may be blinded by the truth and we may refuse to hear as pictured in the seed fallen on the wayside. Painful moments and hardship will come our way. Some of us may give up because we are not prepared, as shown by the seed on the stony ground. Many worldly pressures will blow on us to stagnate our growth if we are not careful, as illustrated by the seed on the thorny ground. But, if we are able to understand the purpose of the Lord for this group of fathers and mothers, we pray that we will be found faithful to bring the fruits of success in our generation. We pray that the word of God will prevail in our homes and lives as described by the seed that falls on the good soil in the parable of the Sower, Matthew 13.

Then Wiskie highlighted on the importance of knowing and understanding the Word of God. He said all of us have sinned and we continually fall short of the glory of God as mentioned in Romans 3:23-24. Wiskie said it’s God who tells us that we all need a savior Jesus Christ who came to save us by grace and not by our works (Eph 2:8). He is the One who accepts us and imputes (or credits) His righteousness upon us because we believe in Him (Rom 4:22-23). Wiskie stated that when we believe God, He counts us righteous. When we confess Jesus as Savior and Lord, we are saved from the wages of our sins according to Romans 10:9-10
Afterwards, he invited those in attendance to trust in Jesus for the salvation of their souls. Sixteen residents of Phalombe gave their lives to Jesus.
