ULUMBA Outreach
We visited Ulumba, Malawi with a goal to teach the life lessons of the Parable of the Sower. There were twelve of us in attendance. We had good time following up on what was discussed in our meeting one week prior.
We applied what we learned from the Parable of the Sower by introducing the “Five P’s of Progress”. These are five stages in our development that happen over and over again.
The “Five P’s of Progress” are the following:
Purpose
Plan
Preparations
Practice
Progress
The “Five P’s of Progress” help us to apply the lessons of the Parable of the Sower to all our endeavors included in both our work and in our worship (Matt 6:33, John 15:4, 1 Cor 10:31)
We continued to explain what is meant by Matt 13:1-9, 18-23 passages of Scripture. We continued breaking down each verse into detail as we went along. We pray that the Spirit of God will teach us both His wisdom and His understanding that is overflowing from this parable. We look forward to exploring the unseen mysteries of His Kingdom (Matt 13:10-17).
We learn from this parable and from 2 Tim 2:1-7 that walking by faith is not a spectator sport. Faith requires our active participation and discipline to plant, to cultivate, and to act upon the word of God that we have placed in our hearts (Matt 25:14-30, Luke 6:46-49) .
Next week, we plan to plant the four different soils as an illustration of the Parable of the Sower.
Join us next week as we report on the results of our four soil planting demonstration. We will share videos of our activities and we will hear from our students who volunteered to share their experiences.
Please consider joining our outreach effort by making a donation of any amount. We appreciate your active participation, even as this parable teaches us. See our donation resource at this link.
