Thanks be to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the sustainer of our faith in Christ.
We would like to appreciate the love of God in keeping us all by His grace.
The Wisdom’s House team is still holding on in faith to our vision to assist the fathers in Phalombe Mitekete in starting a spiritual foundation for their families.
The Phalombe fathers are working hard in the study of Gods word using the
“How to Grow in the Lord” Chichewa version that was provided to them few months ago. Pastor Wyson said, ” It has been an important moment for us to explore the hidden spiritual truth about the Parable of the Sower as a group. We committed ourselves to take the lessons into practice so that we can build our faith muscles, and even prove ourselves by the study of God’s word.”
The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens, Proverbs 3:19.
Pastor Wyson said, through the teaching and the materials, by having the full Bible with us, we have found some principles that are so helpful to us that we can focus on building a simple foundation set by God for both our work and for our worship. For example, we learned about the farmer who waits patiently for the harvest not losing heart. We knew about harvesting as farmers, but we could not apply this truth to our spiritual life until it was illuminated by
“How to Grow in the Lord” materials that were shared by the team from Zomba. We are so thankful we are learning to go through step by step until we are established.
Village head Kolosha said, ” I have noticed a hard working spirit in the people since the Zomba team started visiting us. Some are taking care of chickens in a serious manner. Some have created backyard vegetable gardens. We believe if our people continue in this, we will be moving forward out of some deepest challenges we have had.”
These were welcoming remarks we received from the Phalombe team to the Wisdom’s House team in Zomba.
Pastor Chidobvu shared with Phalombe residents the following scripture:
“Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:9-15)
Pastor Wiskie said, “we must understand that wisdom is a God given gift and the way it works can not be fully understood by our human brain, instead it takes faith in God” . We must trust the word of God as a farmer who plants a seed in faith trusting that it will eventually bear fruit.
Just as Nicodemus was confused about the ways of the spiritual world, so are we. Jesus said there are earthly things, and there are heavenly things. Most of the time, God communicates to us through the things we understand (earthly things) that so that we may apply our understanding to the things of the Spirit.
Our team at Wisdom’s House is focusing on the basic principles that can lead us to freedom from bonds of poverty, due to many factors. The biblical priority is to trust in God, rather than the hand of flesh because our works cannot save (Jer 17:5-10, Eph 2:8) . God works through Spirit-filled people to accomplish His purposes (Jn 16:13). The Spirit of God is behind every move. Our team at Wisdom’s House is grateful that we can lean on God’s wisdom, rather than ourselves (2Cor 3:5)
As fathers, we have to take the challenge of liberating our families from the poverty by trusting God and working hard to understand the will of God, then we can leave a legacy of freedom to our grandchildren children’s (Proverbs 13:22).
We discussed the progress in putting this spiritual truth of
“How to Grow in the Lord” into practice. We received a report that the land we designated to use for training and serving the Phalombe residents is still in use by others. When the land usage is completed, God willing, we desire to rent it for our work in training and serving one another. The Phalombe residents are ready to work cooperatively to accomplish goals with eagerness. We saw a great commitment of the Phalombe team, and we hope to see a continuation of such hardworking spirit among them.
